What is epublications@Bond?

Posted by Peta Hopkins on February 21, 2006

An Institutional Repository for Bond University will provide a single solution for the management of a range of the University’s digital assets while at the same time giving extensive exposure and access to:

  • Research and scholarly literature produced at Bond
  • Theses completed by Bond students
  • University archival material such as historical photographs
  • Journals and other materials published by the University

Bond staff and post-graduate students produce research and scholarly papers as a contribution to their discipline and/or as part of scholarly communication. Much of this is intended for publication for the general purpose of recognition and impact and not for commercialisation, individual royalty payment or revenue for the author or the University. This body of research and scholarly output is Bond’s contribution to the outside world and through the establishment of an online repository this can be stored and made accessible from all over the world.

The first stages of the implementation project will focus on research papers and on electronic theses. The repository will enable us to participate fully in the Australian Digital Thesis Program.
